Silvanna Cuttleberry was intrigued by her father's hat making shop. She loved the smell of leather, the beautiful, shiny ribbons made from the cocoons of the silkworms, and the feel of the soft tail feathers from hummingbird's moltings. Most of all she loved the metallic sound of the scissors when slicing through fabrics. Her fondest wish was to grow up to be a famous hat maker just like her father.
Generation after generation, the Cuttleberry scissors were passed down from father to son to carry on the tradition. This was the first time that a father had no son to pass on the scissors. The Cuttleberry males believed that it was bad luck for a daughter to handle the family scissors, let alone become a hat maker. Silverius was no exception.
How could Silvanna convince her father that she was destined to continue the family business?
Beautifully illustrated.
